$10.00 Meatball Pizza

Yes thats right people, meatball pizza.

It is the bomb diggidy too and very easy to make.

I would suggest doubling the recipe and freezing a few, I know this is aways my advice but I am all about convenience and time saving.  This is always a crowd pleaser in our house, and I usually have the meatballs & pizza bases pre-made and frozen – so if we have unexpected guests I just whip this up with some salad and everyone seems to love it.

Pizza base (I make my own, but you can buy these relatively cheaply in the cold section of the supermarket)

1/2 cup of Passata or Sugo

350g of pork mince

1/2 cup of bread crumbs

1 cup of tasty grated cheese

1 teaspoon of italian dried herbs

1 teaspoon of onion powder

1/2 cup of mozzarella

Fresh Basil (just a few leaves to add that peppery herby burst)

1 egg

Its pretty simple really, in a bowl add all of you ingredients except your passata, fresh basil, mozzarella and pizza base, combine well.  I would recommence not making them into large balls, I would say the some of a 50c coin?  Gently fry them (they won’t take long due to the size, so don’t overcook) set aside on a paper towel to drain.

Ladle the passata or sugo on your pizza base and spread, dot the meatballs around evenly, don’t be stingy with them, you want at least 1 meatball per two bites.  Add your fresh basil, and then scatter the mozzarella cheese.

Bake in the oven for 20minutes on 200 or until the cheese has melted into gooey goodness.
